Dinner at Gengy's

Last night (Tuesday, 26th May) the International boys and the International girls from Tauranga Girl's College, along with staff went to dinner at Gengy's Restaurant. Everyone had a great time creating their own all you can eat meals, which was then cooked on the Mongolian style BBQ. Pancakes made to order followed for dessert.

Lunchtime!

Our new International 'home-base' in the school is proving a hit, with Kiwi boys coming over hang out with our International boys.

Trip to Papamoa Blokart Heaven

Last Friday, 15th May, the International department visited the Blokart Recreation Park in Papamoa. The boys and staff had fun racing the blokarts and the new electric three wheeled drift karts, another great invention from the Bay -
which proved a big hit with the boys!

Hausch Fair - Germany

Recently two of our TBC Old Boys', Max and Felix (2013), helped out at the annual Hausch Fair in Germany.
These two boys did a terrific job, talking to prospective students about what our school has to offer and their experiences in NZ.  Two wonderful ambassadors for Tauranga Boys' International Centre.

Outdoor Education - Year 12 Bushcraft

At the beginning of this week (4th to 5th May), 11 of our international students joined their classmates on camp at Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park. This camp is part of the Year 12 Outdoor Education NCEA curriculum. The boys had been planning and organising their food, equipment and sleeping gear as part of their assessment. The boys were assessed on their knowledge of environmental care, tramping, map, compass and GPS skills as well as erecting emergency shelters. A wonderful opportunity for our International boys to experience tramping and bushcraft in our beautiful New Zealand native bush.

Pies, Pies and more Pies - Business Course Venture

As part of their business class course, Peter, Jun and Leo launched their very tasty venture - Korean BBQ meat pies.  The boys had to source their product and create a business plan to sell the pies at a profit. A great hands on learning curve over the next few weeks for the future entrepreneurs.  Watch this space for further news on their progress!
